Exe Estuary Erosion Control

New video of the erosion control project on the Exe Estuary.

JPR used a traditional technique for erosion control which involved capturing the silt washed in and out with the tides in bundles of hazel. This then settled on the banks, covering the erosion and allowing the vegetation to build up once again.

A site visit earlier this year, shows that the controls put in place seem to have worked.  The brash bundles are capturing the silt and the banks are building up again.  The old landfill is no longer exposed and the reeds and other plants on the Estuary are starting to look really nice again.
